My New Favorite Thing

I used to have nice glass pyrex tupperware that we got when we were first married but after 4 years they all seemed to have disappeared one by one.  I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but one day you open your cupboard and realize you have no tupperware and you wonder where it all went. Seriously, it's a mystery to me.  (Craig brings a lunch everyday to work, I think that is the culprit but he denies it!)

Because of my diminishing supply of tupperware, I got resourceful and starting using empty sour cream, yogurt, cottage cheese etc. plastic containers.  What can I say, I'm thrifty : )  Now when I open my fridge, there is a sea of tupperware with all sorts of store labels all containing something different ie: leftovers, fresh fruit, and half used vegetables.  It's like a guessing game!  Everything looks the same but inside each container is a little surprise!  Many times have forgotten about leftovers, fresh fruit, and half used vegetables because I couldn't open my fridge and obviously see what was in there.  Instead of using my half used tomato, I would grab a new one and use it.  Then I would find a half used tomato a couple days too late.  Sadly, a lot of good food has gone to waste.

BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!

I stumbled across these at the grocery store and I couldn't believe my eyes!!
This was the solution to my problem!  A container that looks like the vegetable that is stored inside it... genius!!  Why didn't I think of that?  So now when I open my fridge, I can easily spot my tomato and onion without having to open 5 different containers first!  My sis gave me one and I bought the other at the grocery store, but I assume they have them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond because they have everything there : )  This product is my new favorite thing.  It truly is the simple things in life!

PS: In case you were wondering, I also invested in some cheap clear plastic tupperware to store the rest of my food so my fridge doesn't look like we only eat dairy products.  And if it starts disappearing, it's ok because it's cheap!

5 Everyday Favorites

1.  Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy:  This perfume smells so good I just want to eat it!  It's so cheerful and it's perfect for spring... or late winter while waiting for spring!
2.  Farrell's Extreme Bodyshaping: I love this workout!  Kickboxing gets my blood flowing early  in the morning (like before the sun is up early) and gives me energy all day.  And working out with resistance bands isolates each muscle to truly "body shape".  One of the instructors is super cute which is an added bonus.  (yeah, it's Craig)

3.  Fruit Leather:  Have you seen these?  They are the perfect size snack just before working out or throughout the day.  I am partial to the apricot, which is funny to me since I don't think that I have ever had a fresh apricot... weird huh?  You can find them at CostCo for the best deal, I think close to 20 cents each.
4.  Verona Coffee from Starbucks: I know it's kinda weird but I love having a big cup of this coffee when I get home from my workout while I get ready for the day.  I know most people's goal is to hydrate after a workout and I try to talk myself into that some mornings but I always succumb to my temptation of this delicious coffee.  I don't think that I am addicted to coffee itself but rather, addicted to the habit of drinking coffee.  Does that make sense?  I like my coffee extra strong, extra bold, and extra black.  After my coffee I'm ready to take on the day!

5.  Talking to Katie:  My sister Katie is the greatest sister anyone could ask for!  We usually talk before she goes to work, before I go to work, during work, when she gets off work, or when I get off work or any combination of these throughout the day.  Our conversations are about the important things in life and the silly things in life and they really never end because in several hours it begins again.  I love sharing my life with my sister and truly my best (girl) friend.  And it's always a sweet surprise when one of my little nieces answers the phone and I get to talk with them too.  Here's a picture of my sis and I from her beautiful wedding.

Katie is on the right : )  Isn't she gorgeous!!

Favorites

My sis tagged to me for the Favorite Things Quiz and it kinda reminds me of the chain letters I used to get in jr. high.  If I don't do the quiz something bad might happen... so here it goes  : )

1. Favorite Flower
For this one, the BIGGER the better.  Hydrangeas, peonies, and sunflowers in that order : )

I can't help but smile when I see these flowers.  Now, if I could just get them to grow out in Colorado!

2. Favorite Color Combo
I guess right off the top of my head... black and gold.  I know what you are thinking but it's not because of the Hawkeyes but because I think it's classic.  But I am a Hawkeye fan so that is an added bonus!

Not a huge fan of the dress, but the accessories I like
PS- Kate, you just chose a favorite color, not a combo....

3. Favorite Celebrity Couple
I don't even have to think to answer this question.  Who else but the Damons... Matt and Luciana!  Not only because they are so cute together but also because of their love story.
4. Your Theme Song
Another no brainer- anyone who really knows me knows this to be true!
   Lizz's Theme Song

This is what I think Craig's should be: Craig's Theme Song  Let me know if you agree!

5. Favorite "I had a terrible day" food
I have to break the rules and say definitely a glass of wine.  I enjoy most kinds of wine, but I do love this one in particular:

6. Lipstick or Lipgloss
I think this one is obvious mostly because I am under the age of 45...  Seriously, I don't know anyone my age who wheres full on lipstick.  But who knows, maybe I just don't know the cosmetic trends and I am out of the loop.

7. Favorite Magazine
A) US Weekly for my celeb. gossip
B) Any decorating, organizing, recipe, DIY magazine such as:

8. Favorite Thing about Winter
SOUPS!  In the Coder home we love to eat soup when it is cold outside.  Our favorites are: taco soup (see previous post), white chicken chili, baked potato, black bean, chicken tortilla, nacho cheese chowder, and of course, chili. So if you have any delicious soup recipes please send them my way.

Now to keep this "chain letter" going I am going to tag the only 2 people that I know who might read my blog : )  Alexa and Sara... Have fun!
